Kim Smith Director, Producer, Camera, Editor, Script
Kim Smith is a filmmaker, designer, author, illustrator, photographer, and naturalist who documents, in a variety of media, the world around her. She is the author and illustrator of Oh Garden of Fresh Possibilities! Notes from a Gloucester Garden (David R. Godine, Publisher, 2009). Kim’s landscape and interior design firm, Kim Smith Designs, works with clientele to create highly individualized homes and gardens, and she specializes in creating butterfly and songbird habitat gardens. Smith is a daily contributor to the stellar community blog Good Morning Gloucester. She is the mom of Liv and Alex Hauck and lives with her husband, the writer and editor Tom Hauck, in their 1851 home up from Smith’s Cove on Gloucester’s beautiful working waterfront.
Life Story of the Black Swallowtail is the first to be completed in a trilogy of films about butterflies and will be followed next year by Beauty on the Wing ~ Life Story of the Monarch Butterfly. Also underway and near to Kim’s heart is the film project The Feast of San Giuseppe, a documentary about Gloucester’s Sicilian American community’s celebration of the annual nine-day novena honoring Saint Joseph. She is currently editing the film, which will premier during the Feast of Saint Joseph in 2014.

Craig Kimberley is a director, director of photography, editor, and content creator for multiple formats. He is currently directing, editing, and shooting several programs for the Outdoor Channel.
Liv Hauck Vocals
Liv Hauck moved to Brooklyn to complete her master’s degree in vocal performance at the Steinhardt School of Music at NYU. She is a graduate of Boston University’s College of Fine Arts, vocal performance major. Liv is currently working at Hybrid Films, NYC, and as an events producer.
Kathleen Adams, Organ
Kathleen Adams began her career in music singing renaissance repertorie with lute accompaniment at the University of Chicago, the American Conservatory of Music, and in other academic settings. In Boston, she was engaged as cantor and organist for an Italian church, leading to a long-time association as soloist “Caterina la Canterina” with the Italian Colonial Band. Adams is choirmaster and organist of the Annisquam Village Church in Gloucester and artistic director of a successful concert series there. She maintains a studio teaching and coaching organ, piano, and singing. Adams serves as chairman of the Young Organists Initiative for the Boston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. At C. B. Fisk Organbuilders, she edits The Pipeline, a newsletter documenting the work of the firm.
